| On the border of Muskoka and Haliburton, our cottage is located 8 km south of the town of Dorset, Ontario. We are just a 2 hour and 40 minute drive north of Toronto, 35 minutes from historical Huntsville, Bracebridge and Minden, 20 minutes from Baysville and 30 minutes from the gateway to Algonquin Park. Dorset is also home to Robinson’s General Store, which was voted Canada’s best country store and has been owned and operated by the same family since 1921! It includes a grocery store, Home Hardware and general items such as clothes, quilts, fun cottage knickknacks and kitchenware. We are only an 8 minute drive to Robinson's and the LCBO. Our cottage is located directly facing Wren Lake to the west and the Black River on the south side of the property. We have a private boat launch if you wish to bring your own motorized boat or use our kayak, row boat or canoes. Our private dock receives sun all afternoon. The waterfront has a shallow sandy beach for easy entry and a floating dock anchored out further for diving and jumping. The lake is big enough to Sea-doo, water ski and tube! This lovely cottage has a recently renovated kitchen, bathroom, Muskoka room, bunkie and new floors throughout the main cottage. There are 2 bedrooms in the main cottage (one queen, one double bed) and room to sleep up to 6 in the bunkie (a double bed, pull-out double couch and single bunk beds). The open concept kitchen has all the amenities you need including an extra bar fridge. There is satellite TV in the living room and one of the bedrooms, for your enjoyment. A large dining room table seats 6-8 people comfortably. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PILLOWS, LINENS AND DRINKING WATER. |
